– Sealy® (NYSE: ZZ), North America’s No. 1 mattress brand, has announced a new social media based sweepstakes that builds upon its new Sealy Posturepedic® campaign, “Whatever You Do In Bed, Sealy Supports It.” The sweepstakes, playfully coined “Bed Buddies,” will offer weekly prizes through February 2012 celebrating all of the things, some humorous and some practical, people do in bed with a grand prize of $10,000 cash.
“’Bed Buddies’ takes Sealy’s relationship with our social media community to the next level,” said Jodi Allen, chief marketing officer at Sealy. “We see this sweepstakes as another lighthearted way to bring to life all of the living that goes on in bed and remind consumers that Sealy supports all of it.”
The “Bed Buddies” sweepstakes will live on the Sealy Posturepedic Facebook page where consumers can “Like” the page to enter to win. Sealy will use targeted Facebook marketplace advertisements, which will change each week based on the prize offered, as a way to drive traffic to the page. Weekly prizes will range from workout videos to microwaveable slippers, culminating with a $10,000 cash prize during the final week.
The “Whatever You Do In Bed, Sealy Supports It” campaign, which kicked off earlier this year, was a first among mattress manufacturers not only for its provocative content, but also for its aggressive digital outreach including a free mobile app inspired by the fortune cookie game where one adds the words “in bed” to the end of a fortune. Tagger has been downloaded almost 130,000 times and even hit the top 20 free entertainment app list allowing countless consumers to transform everyday objects, moments and photos into the ultimate fortune cookie joke.
