New Latex and Memory Foam Line Provides Simple, Healthy Rest for Body and Mind

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

TRINITY, NC (June 29, 2010) – Sealy ® (NYSE: ZZ) , North America’s No. 1 mattress brand, today announced the launch of its new line of mattresses, Embody™ by Sealy. For consumers seeking the healthiest rest, this innovative line is made from progressive latex and memory foams to provide an experience that feels as good as it is good for you.

“Americans are increasingly looking for products that help them lead healthier lives - the Embody line is designed to help them rest healthier too,’” said Larry Rogers, president and

CEO of Sealy. “The healthiest rest comes from a healthy sleep surface and room environment. Embody mattresses are the first of their kind to deliver both.”

Embody progressive foam mattresses are uniquely designed to breathe easily. The line is the only in the world to use Body Climate fabrics by Polartec® that allow air to circulate in

and around the mattress to help regulate temperature all night long and wick away moisture to ensure a dry, healthy sleep. Embody mattresses are up to five times more breathable than the leading foam mattress, making for a healthier rest night after night. They are also constructed with anti-microbial fabrics to resist dust mites and allergens, while providing a natural shield against microbes. And because it’s important that the air circulating around us is clean air, the entire line is safe and free from formaldehyde and other ozone-depleting chemicals.

“Sealy conducted extensive consumer research to create a healthier mattress,” said Jodi Allen, Sealy chief marketing officer and senior vice president of marketing. “Consumers told us

that less is more – that fewer, healthier layers are very appealing to them. Embody mattresses are pure foam from top to bottom, delivering simple, healthy rest.” The line features four memory foam and four latex foam mattresses, each with a distinct feel to fit different consumer preferences. Memory foam offers the conforming feel of sleeping “in” the mattress while latex foam offers the familiar, yet contouring feel of sleeping “on” the mattress.

In addition, the modern design is as purposeful as it is attractive, and includes unexpected extras like a side pocket in the foundation for bedside essentials and upholstery grade fabric. Each sleep set is constructed carefully as one single piece to ensure layers work in unison to fully support the body and ensure long-lasting comfort and longevity. New Embody by Sealy models range from $1,999 to $3,299 based on a queen set and are available in select retail stores nationwide summer 2010.
